Hollywood legend Charlton Heston dies at 84.

Charlton Heston
, who won the 1959 best actor Oscar as the chariot-racing "Ben-Hur" and portrayed Moses, Michelangelo, El Cid and other figures in movie epics of the '50s and '60s, has died. He was 84. The actor died Saturday night at his home in Beverly Hills with his wife Lydia at his side, family spokesman Bill Powers said. Powers declined to comment on the cause of death or provide further details. "Charlton Heston was seen by the world as larger than life. He was known for his chiseled jaw, broad shoulders and resonating voice, and, of course, for the roles he played," Heston's family said in a statement. "No one could ask for a fuller life than his. No man could have given more to his family, to his profession, and to his country."

UK's Prince Philip leaves hospital.

Prince Philip,
the husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth, was released from the hospital on Sunday where he was admitted last week with a chest infection, Buckingham Palace said. The 86-year-old royal was discharged from King Edward VII Hospital in London at 1:30 p.m. (8:30 a.m. ET), the palace said. He spent three nights at the hospital, it said. Prince Philip, who also has the title of Duke of Edinburgh, will return to Windsor Castle to continue his recuperation, the palace said. His engagements for Monday have been canceled. Other future engagements will "be decided on a day to day basis," the palace said. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip celebrated their diamond anniversary last year in front of 2,000 guests.

Dad rapes girl in hospital bed next to sick son.
A MAJOR children's hospital has been forced to introduce new security measures after a man visiting his ill son raped a teenage patient in the next bed. Raouf Philopos sexually assaulted the girl for more than an hour as his six-year-old son slept and while nurses tended to patients in the ward at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. The 16-year-old victim was readmitted to the same hospital ward after turning to self-harm following the assault. The incident has forced a major review of Westmead's child protection policies, and resulted in new protocols for overnight stays by carers.

Florida Man Charged With Having Sex With Child in Video.
A police report says Matthew Kent Sheley was arrested Friday on a charge of sexual performance by a child. Jail records show Sheley is also being held on 11 counts of possession of photographs of sexual performance by a child. Investigators are searching for the girl, who would be 12 to 14. The video was apparently taken when the girl was 7 to 9 years old. Police say Sheley's face was not seen in the videotape. Authorities say he was identified as the adult in the videotape based on unique markings on his body. A jail official didn't know if he has an attorney.

Man Is Flung From Roof of His Speeding Minivan, Runs Naked Along Highway.
According to the Reading Eagle newspaper, police say they responded to calls Friday from frantic motorists who reported seeing a man climb on top of his minivan roof while it was moving about 55 miles per hour, and watched as he was flung into the woods as the vehicle crashed into a highway guide rail. Witnesses said the man then climbed up an embankment, took off his clothes and ran on the shoulder of a busy highway bleeding from a foot-long gash in his side, the paper said. Police Tazered the man three times to try to restrain him. They finally had to tackle him to ground, according to reports. The man was taken to Reading Hospital in critical condition where toxicology tests were conducted.

Pregnant woman attacked and robbed.
Police said the 28-year-old Fitzroy woman had just withdrawn cash from an ATM in Victoria St, Richmond at about 9.20am. The woman then walked to a nearby tram stop near the corner of Victoria and Lennox Streets where a man approached her, pushing her hard in the chest. Police spokeswoman Creina O'Grady said the woman, who is five-months pregnant, then fell backwards onto the footpath, striking her head on an iron rail as she fell. The man grabbed her purse and produced a black-handled knife, which he pointed at the woman, and yelled at her to release the purse. He ran off with the purse along Lennox Street. ...

Girl, 14, missing for two days as police believe she went to meet Internet stranger.
A 14-year-old is thought to have gone missing after she arranged to to meet a stranger she had been talking to on the Internet. Stephanie Walsh has been missing for two days and police and her parents are becoming increasingly concerned for her safety. The schoolgirl left home in Oldham, Greater Manchester, on Friday afternoon without her phone or handbag to deliver a letter. She has not been seen since. Detective Inspector Bill McGreavy, of Oldham CID, said: "It is very unusual for Stephanie to go missing and she has now spent two nights away from home and her family and the police are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare. "She has left the house without her handbag or mobile phone so her parents have no way of contacting her.

Spring replaced by snow and wintry weather.
Any sign that spring was on its way disappeared this morning when several parts of the country woke up to several inches of snow. Heavy snowfall settled overnight across the Midlands and shortly before 7am snow started falling in central London. The snowfall caused further problems at Heathrow airport, where a runway was temporarily closed. Terminal Five also suffered, cancelling 12 British Airways flights. An airline spokeswoman said: "It is likely there will be further cancellations due to snow disruption." A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said Bicester, Aylesbury and Oxfordshire had all seen heavy snowfall, with several reports of cars struggling to continue their journeys and minor accidents because of the weather.
